Updated: Dec 31, 2022

In a few easy steps, you can learn how to create a heart tunnel loop in Adobe After Effects. This has been a trending video on Tik Tok. In the video below, you can learn how to create your own heart loop video for YouTube, Instagram, or Tik Tok.

In this video, you will learn how to create an infinite loop using a heart shape. You will need to use After Effects 2021 version to create this.

Tip #1 - You will need to create a Vector Heart in Adobe Illustrator

The first thing you will need is a vector image of a heart to import into After Effects. If you don't know how to create vectors in Adobe Illustrator, you can also download a stock vector file from Adobe Stock or another platform. Or if you want to learn something new, there are many tutorials out there on how to create a heart shape in Adobe Illustrator. Once you have your saved Illustrator file, you are ready to move on to the next step.

The next step is converting your Illustrator into a shape layer in Adobe After Effects. After you import your file into the After Effects composition, you will right click and create shape from vector file. Once your shape layer is created, you can delete your Illustrator file and you are ready to create your heart loop.

Tip #2 - Animate your Heart

Now that you have your shape layer ready to go, the first thing you need to do is turn your shape layer into a 3D layer. After your 3D layer is created, you will create a key frame using the stopwatch under the position tab. Every step is shown in the video above.

  1. Animate your heart layer by changing the Z position

  2. Create a loop expression by hitting alt + stopwatch: loopOut()

  3. Go to Effect ---> Time ---> Echo

After you create your loop animation, you're ready to add a glow effect and you have yourself a heart tunnel loop! Check out the step-by-step tutorial so you can easily follow along.
